FAQ

How do I order one of your bikes?

Bikes can be ordered over the phone, in person, or by email. There is no need to order through a shop, as we sell directly to consumers. A $1000 nonrefundable deposit gets you in the build queue, and starts the clock. Once the deposit is received, the design process starts in earnest.

What are the prices of various models?

Models range in price from $3500 for a standard, straight line frame to $3800 for the more complex, curved models. Forks start at $750 for the standard unicrown fork, and the truss fork sells for $1600. The suspension bike frame starts at $4500, and can be build in varying styles to suit body dimensions, and ride preferences.

Do you sell complete bikes?

Yes, you can order a frame only, or a complete build, or anything in between. We are happy to provide a complete build for a “turnkey” bike, or supply just what you want to “do it yourself”.

What are your lead times?

Lead time vary, and are based on the number of bikes in the build queue. Right now there is a 4-5 month wait from deposit to delivery for titanium and a 1-2 month wait for steel. How do I ensure a good fit? By designing your bike to your body dimensions we ensure the best possible fit. A Computer Aided Design (CAD) drawing is created for each individual bike. This drawing is the ‘go between” between customer, and builder, and reflects changes made throughout the design process. It is also the data used to set up the bike frame in the fixture, which is the jig used to locate all of the data points in the drawing. Our buyers guide is how I gather the information to create the initial CAD drawing, and the back and forth dialog we share is how refinements and revisions are made to the drawing, until we are both satisfied with the final drawing.

Do you sell your components separately?

Yes, our frames, forks, handlebars, stems, and seatposts can be bought individually. Wait times on components vary from 3-5 weeks from deposit to delivery.

What is your warranty policy?

All titanium frames offer a lifetime warranty to the original owner. Forks and other components offer a 5 year warranty, but well cared for, should last a lifetime as well. Any part supplied by Black Sheep, but not made by us carries the Manufacturer’s warranty.

What materials do you offer?

Titanium is the preferred material offered, however we can build with steel as well, for a more budget conscious build. Aluminum and carbon fiber are great choices for aftermarket components, but do not meet the requirements for a lifetime build, so we do not offer frames constructed of these materials.
