I’ve always been an avid cyclist. I grew up in Louisville, Kentucky and moved to Boulder, Colorado in 1980. Cycling represented the freedom to explore my surroundings.

 

I started Black Sheep Bikes in 1999, as a way to reconnect to my passion for building bikes. It was a chance to apply my skills in precision welding and fabrication to bicycles. In 2008, I won the “Best Titanium Bicycle” award at the North American Handbuilt Bicycle Show (NAHBS).
